Anniversary of Aivazovsky’s Birth
The Russian Post released into circulation a stamp to honor the 200th
anniversary of Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky birth.
The stamp depicts his painting “Arrival into Sevastopol Bay” (1852).
The stamp sheet features a portrait of the artist and his date of birth.
Ivan Aivazovsky was born July 29th, 1817 in Feodosia,
where he founded both an art school and a gallery.
Any willing person in Moscow can have the release date impressed
on the stamp at Russian Post office 101000 at 26 Myasnitskaya Street.
