Ekaterina Gerasimova

Ekaterina Gerasimova

Born on August 9th, 1967 in Kazan, Russia.

An animal painter by trade, Gerasimova has been drawing animals for as long as she can remember.

Her very first paintings were by no means human.

She finished art school in Kazan.

Then, her love of our wild brethren drove her to enroll in veterinary school.

That experience later influenced her artistic style.

A true master of realism, her works are so strikingly vivid that the subjects appear to be breathing.

The artist uses airbrushing to achieve that level of naturalness and realism.

The air brush allows Gerasimova to represent the smallest details with the same intense precision as a paint brush.

Looking at her paintings one cannot believe that they were created by hand.

But, it is true, all of her works are produced using only an air brush, a knowledge of anatomy, and her artistic talent.

Ekaterina’s favorite subject matter is animals, but her artwork is not limited by it.

Other than canvas, an air brush has many mediums, including cars and housing interiors.

One can draw on almost any surface using an airbrush.

With her work on cars the artist participated in “Aerograph”, an airbrushing festival, in 2009 and 2010.

She won several nomination-based awards including:

Art-Mobile 2012

Art-Mobile 2016

Art-Mobile 2018

A portrait of musician Max Pokrovsky, drawn by Gerasimova for the “Rock in Paint” contest, won first place.

In 2010, she participated in the screening of the “Chart Dozen”, a hit countdown on “Our Radio” station.

She was a creative advisor during the taping of “Toch v Toch”, a show airing on Russian TV Channel 1.

She assisted in the preparation of the opening and closing ceremonies at several major international sport competitions including:

2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi

2015 FINA World Aquatics Championship in Kazan

In 2016 and 2017, she exhibited her paintings at the end of season Porsche Sport Challenge.

Ekaterina’s life mission is to represent the beauty and perfection that has been created by the world’s best artist, nature.

“Animals are a part of this world and they are beautiful.”
